What is automatic Shopify translation?

Normal AI translation is something you run when you need it. Automatic translation keeps watching the supported resources you’ve configured. When selected content is added or changed, EAT can generate the required translations automatically.

That is particularly useful for stores that regularly add products, update descriptions or maintain custom metafield content.

Content you can keep translated

Depending on your configuration, EAT can automate supported resources such as products, collections, pages, articles, theme content and configured metafields. Only enable the content you actually want automatically translated.

Automatically translate metafields too

Metafields deserve special attention because they frequently contain important storefront information outside standard product fields. EAT’s metafield configuration lets you define the relevant namespace and key and include supported metafields in your automatic translation workflow.

This means metafield translation and automatic metafield translation are both available.

What happens when content changes?

Imagine you publish a product in English and EAT translates it into Spanish, French and German. Later you change the original product information. With Auto Translations configured, EAT can translate the updated source content again for the selected languages, helping prevent translated versions from becoming outdated.
