Easy Advanced Translations Setup Checklist
Follow these steps to get your Shopify store translated and ready for international customers.
We've designed Easy Advanced Translations to make managing your store languages as simple as possible. Work through this checklist in order and tick each step once you've completed it.
Open Languages inside Easy Advanced Translations and select the language or languages you want to add to your store.
Go to AI Translate → AI Configuration and review your AI translation settings.
Make sure you have selected the appropriate LLM language. This helps the AI understand the language your original store content is written in.
Think about any words, phrases, product names or brand terminology that should stay unchanged or always be translated in a particular way.
Open Preset Terms and add these before running your AI translations.
Go to AI Translate and click Select Languages to add the languages you want to translate.
You can translate one language at a time or select multiple languages together.
Next, choose which Shopify resources you want to translate. You can select everything or switch off any resources you don't want the AI to process.
When you're ready, click Start Translating. Once finished, you'll receive a notification showing the details of what was translated.
Watch the complete app walkthrough →If Auto-Translations are included with your plan, go to Auto-Translation Setup.
Select the languages and resources that you want the app to automatically keep translated, then save your settings.
Review & fine-tune your translations
Your main translations are now set up. These next steps help you review and translate the less obvious parts of your store.
Open Manual Translations and select the language you want to review.
You can browse your store resources, find individual translation elements and manually adjust any wording whenever you need to.
Learn how to find content to translate or amend →If you're trying to find text that appears directly on your storefront, it will often be located under Theme or Theme Sections.
Make sure you've selected your live theme, then use the search bar to find the text you want to review or translate.
If your store uses images containing text, you can display different images depending on the customer's selected language.
Go to Media and look for the relevant product or collection image. You can then configure the appropriate image for each language.
Watch: How to add images per language →Some text may come from third-party Shopify apps, custom code, widgets or other hardcoded elements that aren't available through Shopify's standard translation resources.
For this content, use Custom Translations inside Easy Advanced Translations.
Watch: How to use Custom Translations →🎉 Your translation setup is complete!
You've completed the Easy Advanced Translations onboarding checklist. We recommend browsing your translated storefront in each language and making any final adjustments before promoting it to customers.
